March 22nd ~ Annual Garage Sale ~ Greater Lansing Weavers Guild will hold its third annual fiber-related garage sale March 22 at Edgewood United Church, 469 N. Hagadorn Road, East Lansing. Anything fiber-related may turn up at bargain prices. Past sales have included weaving and spinning equipment (small looms, reeds, shuttles, warping equipment), weaving and knitting yarns, fiber for spinning, fabric, books and circular sock knitting machines. A table is set aside for free stuff (can’t beat that price!), and ads for looms too large to haul to the sale will be posted. A central checkout table makes it easy to shop several people’s tables but write just one check. Tell your friends and organize your car pools.

Who knows – that doodad or cone of yarn you’re looking for may be waiting there for you!

February 11^th ~ Jenny Shu~ Jenny will discuss how her exposure to fiber art at a young age has led her to dive feet first into the fiber world.  She taught herself beadweaving techniques at a young age, which led to her desire to weave and eventually obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan with a concentration in Fiber Art.  All of this progress has led Jenny to receiving grants, exhibiting nationally and winning awards.
